Dr. Karen Gunn is the owner of Veterinary Medical Center of Spring. She is a 1994 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced briefly in North Carolina before coming back home to Texas. Dr. Gunn started as an Associate Veterinarian in 1997 at the Kuykendahl Veterinary Hospital. She fell in love with the wonderful clients and patients and knew that this would be her home. She purchased the practice from her partner, Dr. Jonathan Green, in April 2004. The hospital donned a new name in September of 2004 of Veterinary Medical Center of Spring.

Dr. Gunn is a passionate and driven individual in all areas of her life. She was excited to implement some of the changes you have already seen at the hospital. She will continue to maintain a facility with equipment that will offer the latest technology and medical care possible for your pet. Her special areas of interest in veterinary medicine include internal medicine, dermatology, and dentistry. She is a member of the American Veterinary Dental Society, American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, Harris County Veterinary Medical Association, Montgomery County Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association. She is also a member of the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Gunn is married and has two children, Austin and Ashley. The Gunns have one cat, an orphaned rescue named Opie; Sturgis, a Golden Retriever; and Benji, a three-legged rescue. Dr. Gunn spends her time off with her family boating on Lake Conroe most every weekend. They also enjoy biking, rollerblading, and hiking in Colorado. Dr. Gunn enjoys weight-training and jogging. She has also dabbled in sprint triathlon competition.
